A MANIFESTO
HOW TO ACHIEVE GOALS WITHOUT LEAVING IT TO LUCK OR CHANCE
A manifesto promotes a new idea with prescriptive notions for carrying out changes the author believes should be made. It often is political, social, or artistic in nature, sometime revolutionary, but may present an individual’s life stance.
Do you use guides to help you reach your goals?
The previous question assumes you know what your goals are.
Taking a play from a few posts back, I believe that’s a dangerous assumption to make. Do you really have goals that you’re actively pursuing?
If so, did you meet your goals for 2021? If not, why?
Do you have goals for the coming year? Not a January resolution you’ll quit by Valentine’s Day (*sidebar: DD-214 for you active duty types? We all leave service some day; plan on it because Uncle Scam won’t plan it for you). Do you have real, tangible, achievable goals that you can measure the progress of and see the results of all your hard work and dedication?
Ther’re many goals for us to set across the entire spectrum of our lives.
Are we content with where we are, or are we headed somewhere else? If headed somewhere else, are we sure we know where we’re at, and do we know EXACTLY where we’re headed? How about your family….do they know and have a clear understanding of that vision?
You see, it’s human nature to want more….more abundance in life, more freedom, more liberty, and more love. Who really doesn’t want more “goodness” out of life?
My family and I sure do…we’ve had struggles and challenges in 2021. We’ve also had some tremendous wins.
We didn’t come into 2021 with the goal of buying a house, relocating to Texas and me finishing up my time in Northern Virginia as a renter away from my family for a month at a time. But life happens, and it was best for us to adjust our plans and pull the trigger on our relocation and “separation plan” from the Department of Defense for a whole host of reasons, with the government response to COVID being the primary one.
I planned on, and hit, many personal and professional goals this year:
On the Health front, I was able to get some much needed medical attention physically and mentally. That positioned my medical record for my upcoming outprocessing from the U.S. Navy (praise the Lord).
Additionally, I was able to do some deep Self-study and refelction, and overcome some preconceived assumptions about this world we live in, getting truly educated (that doesn’t happen in academia, by the way) on the economy and the financialized stock and bond markets, the monetary system, and the government’s out of control deficit spending and debt digging.
I lead a team of professionals and published a book 8 months early due to the Afghanistan fiasco as well as my understaning of the economic future (believed my message needed to reach the ranks now, not in May 2022) and most Armed Forces Families being dependent upon jobs after service. The finalalized version of the book will be updated through March, and then prepared for Kindle and Hardback release on Memorial Day, 30May, and a marketing sprint through Labor Day. Want to participate? Just let me know!
I received approval for my retirement (effective 1Oct2022).
I joined two consumer product companies who offer clean, safe, and healthy alternatives to the big box store brands that are worried not about the customer, but about corporate profits and their stockholders. I’ve been extremely happy, and feeling much healthier, since changing consumption to American-based, private company products since February. What’s more patriotic than buying American, for real?
In addition, I’ve set some aggressive personal and professional goals for 2022:
I’ll be writing a series of It’s Your Life Playbooks through September. These will be an extension of the U.S. Navy Supply Corps community’s It’s Your Career Playbooks that the officer community I’m a member of uses to guide its officers throughout their military career, but falls short of intentionally, informatively preparing their families for the inevitable last day on Active Duty, with or without the family hero. Funny note: my MBA Project 8 years ago focused the research effort on these playbooks. Now we’re finishing that effort with a much broader understanding of the world.
I’ll be continuing to improve my Health and Wellness with more focus on muscoskeletal movement with another service (veteran-owned) that I’ve been with since June.
I’ll continue to focus on self-development, particularly in the communication space verbally with a podcast through Substack and YouTube video content (likely shorts to begin with) to get this important message about the serious domestic threats, nationally and spilling into our homes, out to the world.
I’ll continue building relationships with influencers in the arena. If we don’t stand up for Liberty, it’ll be taken away from us, likely by force. History guarantees it. My attendance at Rebel Capitalist Live will put me in the company of people such as Edward G. Griffin (author of The Creature from Jekyll Island), former Congressman Ron Paul (author of The Revolution), George Gammon (General G^2), Mark Moss (General M^2), Robert Kiyosaki (Rich Dad, Poor Dad and USMC veteran), and many more American Patriots and Entrepreneurs.
I’ll be attending a conference with Melaleuca in May to learn more about their business model and see where I might be able to contribute to their mission after my time on Active Duty closes.
I’ll be pursuing additional sources of cash flow to enable my helping others generate there own, and free themselves from the JOB (Just One Boss) alone risk of being without a paycheck due to one bosses decision.
I’m looking to grow the Premium Patreon (Chapter 13) community from 3 Armed Forces Families strong as of December 28th up to 30 families (the self-imposed maximum available until October, so I can service a max of one family per day, as required by them and their plans for life and military service) by Independence Day. I look for 25 to 50 in the basic and mid-tier memberships (at $4/month and $10/month, respectivelly) by February.
My family will celebrate my Liberty Day (it’s not retirement or separation…those are negative words, and the words we use shape our view of the world)
I’ll be launching a Podcast on Jobs, Energy, & Taxes in January
and much, much more.
It’s a dangerous, very dangerous world we live in. And nobody is coming to save you. You’ve got to save yourself, and you’re only going to do so by not sticking your head in the sand and praying for the best, but by intentionally surrounding yourself with people who know, like, and trust you to have their best interests in mind.
I hope to be one of them for you and your Armed Forces Family….because it’s not about the military, but about the Liberty and Freedoms of the Families who’ve given much of their lives in service to the Nation. There is no military without them.
And there is no Liberty in the status quo (go to school, get a job, save for retirement, blah, blah, blah…) that’s been shoved down our throats the majority of my life, and of yours, too.
If you do keep your head out of the sand, and lean in and engage, then you’ll sleep soundly at night, maintain your wits by day, and continue marching toward your goals and objectives year after year.
You’ll also bring into your circle of influence expert guides who can equip you with the informed optionality you must have when you need them, and then make the decision(s) that are best for your family when the opportunity presents itself.
Or, alternatively, you can go with more of the same from the free resources and status quo approach the bureaucracy and Veteran’s Service Organizations offer, keep on spinning your wheels into the future, reacting to the ambushes throughout that transition battlefield landscape, which you’re in right now, regardless of whether you see it or not.
Most importantly, you’ll have developed the relationships with the people you can help, and who can help you.
You’ll be leading in the truest sense of the term.
But that’s a short term-view…what about your five, ten, or even twenty-five year goals?
What are you shooting for in this LIFE?
Let me know in the comments, or send me an email or message on the socials.
More importantly, how can I help you get there?
So to close this loop, I opened this final post of 2021 (Merry Christmas, by the way, as the 12 days of Christmas are at the half way point) with what a manifesto is.
Today’s post is a manifesto for you and your intentional, informed planning in this life.
Planning for your Whole Health & Wellness.
Planning for your Status & Self Actualization.
Planning for your Complete & Comprehensive Wealth posture.
Planning for the all so important Relationships - familial to strangers and everyone in between.
And beyond planning…action to get you there. Remember as General Dwight D. Eisenhower so boldly stated…
”The plan is nothing. Planning is everything.”
It means to act and adjust the plan accordingly to reach your objectives. But knowing clearly and explicitly what those are is foundational to reaching them.
I’m listening to Pat Green as I finish this post (he’s a Texas Country Music star for you Patriotic Americans who are foreigners to Texas). It’s a fitting background tune, Southbound 35. He started somewhere (Oklahoma, I believe) and was headed to a destination, that great Republic of Texas. I encourage you to do the same.
Manifest your destiny.
I’ll see you there.
To Your Liberty,
P.s. Happy New Year! I wish you a blessed and prosperous life, with informed, intentional planning to see you through it. I encourage you to not keep this to yourself, but to share it…
…so as to not be the senior leader with the secret.
